¡Bistro!

Antes que nada... No puedo garantizar la veracidad de este dato inútil, pero al menos tiene sentido y es entretendio para contar.

¿Primero preguntaré si saben que es un bistro? Correcto, es un restaurante. Honestamente no se la diferencia entre un bistro y un restaurante, pero en fin, tal vez solo sea el "cache" del nombre.

Lo verdaderamente interesante es de donde viene la palabra "Bistro." Hasta donde sé, todo se remonta a la Guerras Napoleónicas. Como saben, o no saben, Napoleón pierde la guerra despues de su tremendo descalabro en Rusia donde pierde casi medio millón de hombres al enfrentar al más grande general Ruso de todos los tiempos, el General Invierno. Al perder la guerra, Paris es ocupada por las tropas del Zar Alejandro II. Los soldados rusos visitaban apurados los restaurantes parisinos en busca de comida y solicitaban se les atendiera rapidamente por lo que los dueños de los restaurantes comenzaron a poner letreros fuera de sus restaurantes que decián "rapidamente", en ruso - bistro - como adverbio, - bistriy - como adjetivo. Tal vez también sea el origen de la comida rápida...

First of all I cannot guarantee the truthfulness of this useless fact, but at least it makes sense and it is fun to tell.

What is truly interesting is where the word "bistro" comes from. As far as I know it all goes back to the Napoleonic wars. As you know, or maybe not, Napoleon losses the war after a tremendous defeat in Russia, where he lost almost half a million soldiers facing the greatest Russian General of all time, General Winter. After lossing the war Paris was occupied by the troops of the Tsar Alexander II. Russian soldiers rushly visited parisien restaurants in search of food and requested to be attended quickly, thus to attract clients the owners started to put signs outside the restaurants that read "quickly" in Russian, - Bistro-, as an adverb -bistriy- as an adjective. Maybe it is the origin of fast food too...
